Holiday Inn Orangeburg Welcomes Your Pet!

Do you have a cat or dog (under 50 pounds) that you want to bring with you on your vacation to Orangeburg, NY?

Then be sure to bring Fluffy or Spot with you when you visit the Holiday Inn Orangeburg!

Many people today (and that includes a good number of us who serve you here at the Holiday Inn Orangeburg) consider the four-legged residents of our homes as part of our families and so it's an automatic desire to bring our pets with us when we take a family vacation.

The Holiday Inn Orangeburg is happy to accommodate you and your pet when you stay with us. All we ask is that your pet weigh less than 50 pounds. Cats must stay in a carrier at all times and aggressive breeds of dogs are not allowed (we recommend you let us know before your arrival what kind of dog you have).

You will be charged an additional $50 to accommodate your pet.

Some Tips for Traveling with Your Pet

Chances are you'll be driving in a car for at least a portion of your trip to our Orangeburg hotel. We recommend that you always keep your pet restrained while in your car. That means your dog or cat should never sit on your lap. One sudden stop and your beloved pet could go flying. Instead, keep your cat or small dog in a carrier and either keep it on the car's floor or secure it to the back seat with a seatbelt. Consider purchasing a special harness that acts something like a seatbelt for a larger dog.

You may want to check with your veterinarian about special medications for your pet - some animals don't travel well by car and may get sick. You vet may be able to prescribe travel-sickness medication.

Your car can become hot very quickly, even when it's relatively cool outside. Leave at least two windows slightly open (for a cross draft). However, we highly recommend you remove your pet from the car during the summer, even if you're going to be stopped for just a few minutes. A car's temperature can rise to more than 120 degrees within minutes when parked outside during the summer months. Don't risk the chance of your pet suffering from heatstroke - don't leave it in your car duing the warmer months!

Here at the Holiday Inn Orangeburg, we greatly look forward to serving all of our guests - whether they be of the two- or four-legged variety!
